Winter Wonderland
Late December saw the heaviest snowfalls for a few years occur in some parts of the country, in some cases affecting service operations. We kick off the new year with a look at a few photos from Anthony Robins on the 26th December 2021 where services were able to continue operating.
EF210 141 approaches Kashiwabara between Ōgaki and Maibara on the Tōkaidō Main Line with a westbound container train. Snow was heavy, which is a seasonal feature of this area.
On the left, a Kanazawa bound type 683 'Shirasagi' limited express from Nagoya to Kanazawa awaits its delayed departure, while a type 221 on a local service stands opposite.
A type 313 on a stopping service bound for Maibara arrives on time at snowy Kashiwabara on the Tōkaidō Main Line with headlights on in the early afternoon of 26th December 2021.
