Mihara Station
Mihara, in Hiroshima Prefecture features an elevated railway station on the Sanyō Shinkansen & Sanyō Main Line, where the latter junctions with the Kure Line which closely follows the Seto Inland Sea coast while the Main Line and Sinkansen take a route to Hiroshima further inland. The main line in this section, one of a few remaining sections where freight trains require banking on the steep gradients. On a recent visit to Japan, JRS Member Nick Harding stopped off for a few photos on the 1067mm platforms.
