Seibu Railway series 3000 pulling in Kodaira station on its Shinjuku line. The Seibu Railway serves the northwestern part downtown Tokyo with its commuter trains fleet including this type, with two major terminus at Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, where the JR Yamanote circle line is linked.

JR East series 651 in Super Hitachi service at Ueno station. Introduced in 1989, this series has been in service for 'Super Hitaci' on the Joban Main Line, linking to the Mito and Hitachi area up to Iwaki city in Ibaraki prefecture, about 200 km east of Toyko, running at a top speed of 130 km/h.
