Series
373, emerging from a tunnel, in the Inaji limited express service on
the JR Central Iida Line. The Iida Line is a fairly long secondery
service that goes across rugged mountainous areas.
A
rare encounter with series 103 in the Tokyo area, at Komagawa station
on the Hachiko/Kawagoe Line, about 50 km northwest off the central
Tokyo. This is a special 103 came from the Senseki Line in Sendai. The
origin of the train was an old series 72 EMU. It was modernized there,
but with only series 103's carbody, with the equipment unchanged. As
being transferred to the Hachiko service, the equipment was finally
replaced with real 103's, and it was incorporated into the series,
being numbered in the 3000s.
