JR East's series 189 rolls along the Shinetsu Main Line in the limited
express Richo (snow grouse) service, heading for Niigata, one of the
largest cities on the Sea of Japan coast. This train runs between Osaka
and Niigata, connecting both cities in about seven hours. Taken at
