This time we're heading north to Hokkaido and below are two images from Hakodate
This is Hakodate's tram car # 812, resting at the shed. This car was built in 1966 by Niigata Engineering.
A 281 class DMU arrives at Hakodate. This train has tilting carriages to speed up its journey along routes with many curves. This unit carries advertising stickers near the doors, rather unusal for express trains.
Both photos were taken by Eric Binamé on his 2004 journey through Hokkaido and north-west Honshu.
