The Kyushu Museum is at the end of the line in Kitakyushu in Retro-town of Mojiko.
The building is the former Kyushu Railway Headquarters.
From the station turn right through the bus stop to the museum.
The following locomotives are on display under a covered way outside:
59634, C59-1, ED72-1, EF10-35. Plus units.
In addition there are drive-yourself mini-trains, model railway, simulators, exhibits and a shop.
Nearby a separate tourist train (locos DB101 and DB102) runs down a former freight line.
Open from 09:00 to 17:30. Closed second Wednesday, except summer school break.
Entry (2009) 300 yen.
As part of the retro-town, the station has been delightfully restored to original state, plus a signal and pair of wheels (from 28627) form part of a floral display at the buffer stops.
